Exercise and bodybuilding guide after rhinoplasty
Exercise and bodybuilding
For the first two weeks after rhinoplasty, you should avoid strenuous activity and keep your head tilted while sleeping. The period of postoperative care is very important because the nose should heal during this time and the swelling should be minimized. After two weeks, the patient can walk briskly and do light exercise if the nasal healing process has gone well and the nose is in good condition. One month after surgery, the patient can continue strenuous activity and strenuous exercise before the operation and lift heavy objects. Here's a few basic facts about a stomp pad and how it is used.
Light exercise
Doctors usually encourage their patients to take light walks 3 to 7 days after rhinoplasty. Continuous and long-term mobility helps to improve blood flow, which can eliminate bruising and swelling after surgery. It is usually recommended that you do not do anything after rhinoplasty, except for a light walk for the first week for 15 to 20 minutes a day.
Resume taking vitamins / minerals and sports supplements
It is a good idea to postpone taking all your exercise supplements for 48 hours after surgery. But as mentioned above, do not go to the gym for the first week. Therefore, it is better to start taking sports supplements after 7 days.
Starting the gym again
It is recommended that you do not exercise for 24 hours after removing the splint from your nose. After this short time you can return to the gym. Using a step machine, treadmill, and paddle are great for getting started. Keep in mind that any strenuous exercise for 8 to 21 days after rhinoplasty can increase blood flow and therefore increase the risk of nosebleeds. Breathe well, drink plenty of water, and exercise lightly while exercising.
Weightlifting (heavy exercise)
The use of weights and working with any device that works with great intensity on certain muscles should not be done for 4 to 6 weeks after rhinoplasty. Before starting heavy exercise, it is good to use lighter weights less often, but in general, at least in the first 4 weeks after rhinoplasty, focus on improving your nose and forget to use heavy weights and exercise.
Swimming / sauna and swimming pool
Doctors recommend that you avoid swimming for 4 to 6 weeks and avoid any exercise in the pool during this time. In the first 4 weeks after rhinoplasty, swimming, sauna, and steam room all increase the risk of nosebleeds due to hot air, and the nose may become infected with bacteria in the water. Any pressure can cause swelling around the nose, which delays the healing process. For this reason, it is better to give yourself a chance and return to your daily routine after complete recovery. After the period of time that your doctor has prescribed for you to rest, you can start your favorite programs and activities.
