Ways to prevent coronavirus
Although there is no vaccine to prevent Covid-19, you can take steps to reduce your risk. The World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have suggested the following measures to prevent Covid-19:
Avoid large parties and large gatherings.
Do not make close contact with sick people or people with symptoms (distance up to 2 meters).
Stay home as much as possible, and especially if you are at high risk for serious illness, keep a distance of up to 2 meters between yourself and others. Remember that some people may have the disease and pass it on to others without any symptoms or knowledge of Covid-19.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use a 70% alcohol-based disinfectant.
Wear masks in public places, such as grocery stores, where it is difficult to avoid close contact with others (especially in places where the disease is more prevalent). Use non-surgical cloth masks - N95 surgical masks should be provided to nurses and medical staff.
When sneezing or coughing, cover the front of your mouth with an elbow or handkerchief. Discard contaminated tissues. Wash your hands immediately.
Do not touch the eyes, nose or mouth.
In case of illness, separate dishes, glasses, towels, bedding and other household items from others.
Clean and disinfect frequently exposed surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, electronics, and counters, daily.
If you are sick, stay home and do not go to work or school. Just leave home to get medical care. If you are sick, avoid public transportation, taxis and getting in a car.
