Gynecomastia refers to the size of the breast in men and is relatively common and occurs at all ages.
Recently, most of the clients with this complaint are young men who have used illicit drugs in bodybuilding clubs.
This complication can be unilateral or bilateral.
Taking certain medications and substances, including corticosteroids, alcohol, and some drugs, as well as some chronic diseases and hormonal disorders, can cause this condition, but most of the time the cause is unknown.
Although breast cancer is less common in men, it can be the cause of large breasts and therefore the patient should always be carefully examined and examined with ultrasound before surgery.
There are two types of gynecomastia:
1- Breasts that have more glandular tissue and have less fat and are firmer to the touch.
2- Breasts that are mostly fat and are relatively softer to the touch.
The quality of the skin in the area and the sagginess of the breasts are very important in choosing the surgical method.
